How it all began
Connie & Scott
Our first date was at an unassuming wine bar in Midtown, one chilly night after work. The conversation was exciting, easy and revolved around topics including our families, appropriate hot sauce usage (correct answer: anytime, on anything), favorite restaurants in the city, Harry Potter, and some light armchair philosophy… which is a list that pretty much sums up who we are in a nutshell, if you ask us. We closed down the bar, plans for date two were set at the end of the night and the rest is history.
Since then, over the past few years, we have quarantined in a pandemic together, traveled to some unforgettable places, learned to actually cook (Scott’s specialties are of the breakfast and lunch variety and dinner is squarely Connie’s domain), and even purchased our Greenwich Village home together, which has been the starting point of so many memories.
Scott proposed at what was supposed to just be Connie’s birthday dinner in February 2022—it will be a hard birthday to top going forward! We are so excited to be married and to be able to share our special day with you in Montauk.
Q: What’s the best meal you’ve eaten together?
LouRoc in Antibes. Never-ending courses of wine, Mediterranean seafood and cheese amidst sun and sea… what more could you ask for?
Q: What are some of your favorite activities?
Throwing on a Melody Gardot record, gelato at Amorino, cozying up with a good podcast, a night on the town, a night in the country, and Roman history YouTube videos (actually that one is just Scott… Connie can be found doing her crosswords during these in rebellion)
Q: Where are you going for your honeymoon?
We will be going on safari in East Africa— Kenya and Tanzania—and couldn’t be more excited!
